Resting in the Saviours Arms

Today is a struggle. I’m overwhelmed with fear that I know is not of God.

I am thankful that God is in control, which was confirmed to me when I opened Lotus Notes and found today’s bible verse was:

Today's Bible Verse - Proverbs 29:25

“Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is kept safe.”

I praise God that as I trust in Him, He will keep me safe!! Hallelujah!

Why Tears of Anointing?

When wondering what to call the blog I’d use to share my spiritual writings and questioning, I thought only of one thing, the vision of the woman anointing Jesus feet with her tears. What a powerful vision for any woman. Everyone who knows me well knows that I've always felt a strong connection to Mary Magdalene. She is the only person (aside from Jesus of course!) in the bible that I've truly understood and admired. There is much debate over whether Mary Magdalene was the woman who anointed Jesus with her tears, and I don't know if she was or not, but that scene in "The Passion of the Christ", where at the cross, Mary reaches out and touches Jesus feet, crying as she does. THAT is worship, at it's purest and most beautiful form. And man, I GET THAT! I WANT THAT! I often feel that if I ever met Jesus in person, I would collapse at his feet, crying while I kiss them. That would be my worship to Him. When I told one of my Spiritual Advisors about my connection with Mary Magdalene she said "Ah, yes, that is because you are a lover of Jesus. He is your best friend, and your relationship with him is REAL, not just holy". It's true you know, I fight a lot with Jesus, I tell him my silly stories, I laugh when something happens that highlights how much of a sense of humour God has. It's cheesy, and christianized, but it's real to me. So when wondering what to call my spiritual blog, it was easy. Tears of Anointing. May my writings be like tears anointing the feet of Jesus!
